His costume is…so sick! Ne-Yo may just be the coolest Tin Man ever. The R&B singer and his costars in The Wiz Live! have officially gotten into character for their upcoming NBC special — and Oz has never looked so good.
The first cast photos from the production were released on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Ne-Yo, who plays the Tin Man without a heart, was joined by Shanice Williams (Dorothy), Elijah Kelley (Scarecrow), and David Alan Grier (Cowardly Lion).
Judging by the photos, Dorothy really is not in Kansas anymore. Instead of Judy Garland’s blue dress and shimmering red shoes, she’s now making her way to the Emerald City in a plaid skirt and black jacket. The Scarecrow, for his part, adds stripes to his attire, while the Lion throws on a fur vest to venture through the poppies.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who executive produced The Sound of Music Live! and Peter Pan Live!, are coming back for NBC’s third live production. Take a look at the full cast below:
